Quebec AWSA ยท CKC Standards
Health guarantee
and purchase terms.
We believe in transparency. Here is a plain-language summary of the key terms that apply to every puppy sale. The full contract is available as a PDF.
Terms
Clear.
Honest.
These terms apply to every sale. They protect the puppy just as much as they protect you.
Legal Framework
Our contract complies with Quebec's Animal Welfare and Safety Act (AWSA) and the breeding standards of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC).
2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee
Every puppy is guaranteed against serious hereditary genetic conditions for 24 months from the date of birth. If a covered condition is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian, we will offer a replacement or partial refund per the terms of the contract.
Vet Exam Within 15 Days
The buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of their choice within 15 days of taking possession. If any pre-existing health concern is identified, we must be informed immediately. Conditions not flagged within this window are not covered under the guarantee.
No Spay or Neuter Before 14 Months
We ask all buyers to wait until the puppy is at least 14 months old before proceeding with spay or neuter surgery. Early desexing can interfere with hormonal development and long-term bone health in toy breeds.
$500 Non-Refundable Deposit
A deposit of $500 CAD is required to hold your place on the waitlist. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel your application. It is applied in full toward the purchase price at the time of the transaction.
Puppy Must Always Return to Us
If you are ever unable to care for the dog, for any reason, the puppy must be returned to us. Under no circumstances may one of our dogs be surrendered to a shelter or rehomed to a third party without our written consent. This is a non-negotiable condition of every sale.
Pet Quality Only
All puppies are sold as companions, not for breeding or show. Adult size and final coat colour are not guaranteed, as both vary with individual development. We breed for health and temperament, not a specific look.
One Vaccine Per Vet Visit
We recommend that buyers request no more than one vaccine per visit. This reduces immune stress and makes it easier to identify the source of any reaction should one occur.
Important
This summary is not the contract.
What you see here is an overview of the key conditions. The full purchase contract, signed by both parties, is the only document with legal standing. It will be provided to you before any transaction is finalized.
