What we do.
Why we do it.

Maison des Caniches des Collines is a toy poodle breeding programme based in the Collines-de-l'Outaouais region of Quebec. What you read here is exactly what we are.

The Programme

A breeding programme that takes it seriously.

Maison des Caniches des Collines is not a large-scale operation. We raise a small number of puppies each year, with the care and attention that requires.

We focus on one breed. The toy poodle is our speciality, and we have no intention of changing that. This focus lets us understand the breed, its lines, and what makes a genuinely good dog.

Every puppy leaves with CKC registration papers, a first vaccine, deworming treatment, a microchip and a veterinary certificate. We don't rush the exit.

Philosophy

What we
believe.

A good breeding programme is a series of slow decisions made for the right reasons. Here are ours.

01

Health First

Before any litter is planned, both parents go through a complete health evaluation: OFA, CAER, cardiac assessment and full DNA panel. We don't shortcut this. What goes into the programme is what families receive.

02

Temperament Over Appearance

A well-bred toy poodle is curious, confident and easy to live with. That's what we breed for. Colour and adult size are secondary. What matters is the dog you'll spend every day with.

03

Home-Raised From Day One

Our puppies grow up inside the home, not in a separate kennel space. They're exposed to sounds, textures, routines and people from birth. By the time they leave at eight weeks, they already have a head start.

04

Carefully Chosen Families

We don't place puppies with just anyone. We read every application, we talk to families, and we make decisions based on compatibility. This isn't a transaction. It's a placement for the lifetime of the dog.

The Region

Collines-de-l'Outaouais.

We're based in the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais, in the Outaouais region of Quebec. It's quiet, green, and lightly populated, just a short distance from the Ontario border. Our dogs grow up well here.

Bilingual Service

French and English.

We work equally comfortably in French and English. Contracts, conversations, and follow-up after adoption are all available in both languages. You choose what works for you.

CKC Registration

Canadian Kennel Club.

Every puppy is registered with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). Papers are provided to every buyer. Our breeding dogs are also registered, and their health results are available on request.

Home-Raised

Not in a kennel.

Our puppies are born and raised inside the home, in a real domestic environment. They don't know isolated kennel life. By the time they reach their new families, they're already comfortable with what home feels like.
